I came up with a small list of great Christmas ideas that you can get on PEI and support local businesses.  Please feel free to expand on the list or contact me for more information.  Someone also please mention to my boyfriend that I'd be thrilled to get any one of the below ideas as a gift along with the two chickens he's donating in my name to a family in Africa.

A gift certficate for a dinner by Chef Stephen Hunter of the Victoria Village Inn, in beautiful Victoria-by-the-Sea.  As the recent recipient of the Taste Our Island Award you can arrange to have Chef Stephen come into your home for a romantic dinner or impress your friends with a fabulous, delicious dinner party prepared in your own kitchen.  He may even give you a few of his culinary secrets... You can reach him at 902-658-2483.

Fire and Water Creations, located in Fortune, PEI, is stunning seaglass jewelry made by artisan Teri Hall.  Her story is very touching and compelling and if you have a prized piece of seaglass that you'd like to have made into jewelry, Teri can do it.

Another artisan who makes incredibly creative pieces of seaglass jewelry and original, hand-painted bags is Gail Rhyno, otherwise known as a Maritime Girl.

Needing seafood this Christmas?  Go see the expert, Mickey Rose of MR Seafoods.  He now has a permanent retail shop, behind Mazda off of North River Road in Charlottetown.  To check out his when and where his trucks are around the Island, check out his schedule here. I often get a big package of smoked salmon (the trimmings) for $3.50 or fresh haddock, scallops, etc.  Yummy for Christmas.

I have also been known to give out packages of frozen seafood chowder by Chef Greg Aitken who has commercialized his award-winning seafood chowder so that you can just warm it up and serve.  Two servings for $9 - a great treat for anyone who enjoys a hearty meal.  Contact him through here.

It's a bit difficult to buy local for kid's presents however without a doubt, hands down, our family's favorite kid's store is Owl's Hollow in Charlottetown.  The Balderston's have a super space for kid's, a place my children love to take their birthday or special occasion money and spend an hour picking out the perfect toy.  My 10 year old's all time favorite present is a pogo stick that we bought from there.

Some specialists claim that home loans help people to live their own way, because they are able to feel free to buy needed things. Moreover, some banks offer short term loan for all people.
