Small Business Week's 30th Anniversary

Small Business Week's 30th Anniversary

Wed, 10/14/2009 - 13:36

It's that time of the year again! Oh wait, it is always that time of the year as there's always something going on! But starting Monday, an annual tradition will reach it's 30th birthday. That is, Small Business Week

The events start off early Monday morning at 7:30AM at the Train Shed on the Montague Waterfront with a free Reception & Trade Fair which is going to be sponsored by Active Communities and the Eastern Chamber of Commerce. After the reception, things move down to Cruise Manda on the Montague Waterfront for Breakfast onboard the "fully weather protected" boat. The event will consist of a few guest speakers, door prizes and of course some great opportunities to network with other businesses. Tickets for the breakfast are $15 and you can get yours at the chamber office (838-4791) or by contacting me.

On Wednesday at 5:30PM, we move onto RIJO Signs (2036 Robertson Road in Montague) for a free business mixer! RIJO Signs will be offering a tour of their facility and will have some light refreshments and snacks.

Then on Friday, things wrap up with a reception & silent auction (6pm) at St. Mary's Hall in Souris. Joe Spriet, Chair of the 2009 Canada Summer Games will speak on his experience with bringing the games to PEI. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a Roast Beef Dinner (7pm) and tickets are $30 or you can get a corporate table of 8 for $265. (For tickets you can shoot me a message or contact the chamber office at 838-4791).

Also, this Friday represents the deadline for nominations for the Eastern Chamber of Commerce's Business of the Year Award. For any nominations, feel free to give the office a call at 838-4791!
