15:08 [URBAN NOTE] Four shots of the Galleria »A Bit More Detail
The Galleria Shopping Centre, located on the southwest corner of Dupont and Dufferin on the westernmost fringes of downtown Toronto, was described by blogTO last May as a Toronto mall desperately in need of a makeover. That's a bit unfair, since, as the reviews at Yelp point out, the Galleria serves its job perfectly fine as a neighbourhood shopping centre--one of the very few in downtown Toronto, incidentally--and caters to an older demographic than the cooler malls elsewhere. This shot of the mall's central gallery shows the general aesthetic: bright and clean in a now retro 1970s sense, with plenty of space.

Zellers is a downmarket Canadian retail chain slated to merge as part of a desperate last effort. Here, two shoppers are caught looking at the entrance to this, an anchor store.

The small kiosks at the centre of the aisle are well-kept, if small.

13:20 Syrian bloodshed continues (63 Words) »PEIinfo
To ensure that they are able to continue to sell arms to Syria, Russia vetoed a UN amendment for the ouster of Bashir al Assad and China voted with them. This is craziness, with over 5000 dead. How long will the bloodshed continue?

Dirty politics at its dirtiest.
