MACNEVIN, Sterling Seldon

The funeral for Sterling Seldon MacNevin was held Saturday, July 4, 2009, from Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel where the service was conducted by Reverend Steven Stead. The organist was Helen MacRae. During the service, Karen MacCannell sang Here I Am Lord and Come As You Are. Pallbearers were Dwayne MacNevin, Darcy MacNevin, Jeremy MacNevin, Jody MacLeod, Jamie MacPhee and Kevin Pollard. Interment took place in Canoe Cove Cemetery. 

MACMILLAN, George Allison

The funeral for G. Allison MacMillan was held Thursday, July 2, 2009, from Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel where Pastor Dale Eynon conducted the service. Helen MacRae was the organist. The congregational hymns were Precious Lord, Take My Hand and When I Survey The Wondrous Cross. Pastor Dale Eynon sang Amazing Grace. Honorary pallbearers were all those in attendance. Pallbearers were Maurice Walsh, Ronnie Bolger, Bob Crockett, Grant Crockett, Beecher Gillis, George Rhynes, Michael Walsh and Bill Johnston. Flowerbearers were Melissa Walsh, Dianne Birt, Alex Birt, Chloe Johnston and Aaron Johnston. Interment took place in New Glasgow Cemetery, P.E.I. Those attending the funeral service included friends and residents of 198 Spring Park Road and members of the coffee club. 

MACDONALD, Melvin Eugene

The funeral for Melvin E. MacDonald of Souris was held Tuesday, September 3, 2008, from the Dingwell Funeral Home to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, where the funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Paul Batchilder at 11 a.m. Niece, Linda Robertson, proclaimed the first reading and niece, Gail Chaisson proclaimed the second reading. The prayers of intercession were offered by nephew, Geoff MacLean. Rev. Paul Batchilder proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The funeral mass was sung by the parish choir under the direction of Bill Matthews. During the funeral mass, the choir sang the entrance hymn, Amazing Grace; the offertory hymn, I'll Never Forget You; and a family friend, Don Rees, sang the communion hymn, Come To The Water and the post communion hymn, Be Not Afraid. Pallbearers were friends, Brian MacPhee, Sept MacPhee, Peter MacPhee, Troy MacPhee and Fan MacIntyre; and nephew, Lennie MacDonald.

HORGAN, Joseph Clarence (Joe)

The funeral for Joseph Clarence (Joe) Horgan of Charlottetown was held Monday, July 6, 2009, from the Hennessey Funeral Home to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer where the funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Jacques Rigaud who also delivered the homily. The lessons were proclaimed by nieces, Carol MacMillan and Anne Foley. The prayers of intercession were offered by nephew-in-law, Allan Gallant. The funeral mass was sung by the parish funeral choir under the direction of Tom Wilkinson. The organist was Gary Cudmore. During the funeral mass the choir sang the processional hymn, Here I Am Lord; communion hymn, We Remember; and the recessional, On Eagles Wings. During the funeral mass, close family friend Donna Marie Kelly sang the offertory hymn, How Great Thou Art, and the reflection hymn, Ave Maria. Pallbearers were good friends, Bob Doherty and Vernon Matheson; nephews, Cecil Mac-Donald, Bill Horgan, David MacDonald and Wendell Toombs.

HEISIE, Anne

The graveside service for Anne Heisie (Matheson) was held Saturday, July 4, 2009, at the Brooklyn Cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. Mark Buell. Words of remembrance were given by her son, Bob Heisie. During the service, the hymns sung were: In The Garden and Farther Along, led by her daughter Susan Carmichael, who was accompanied on guitar by nephew, Aaron Matheson. 

GREGORY, Annie Noreen

The funeral for Annie Noreen Gregory was held Friday, July 3, 2009, from MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel where the service was conducted by Reverend Kevin MacKenzie. The scripture lesson was read by Vimy Gregory. Soloist Flora Ann Whitty sang Beautiful Isle Of Somewhere, The Last Mile Of The Way and Amazing Grace. Organist was Leslie Hiscott. Pallbearers were Troy Longaphie, Cody Longaphie, Allan Gregory and Scott Gregory. Interment took place in the People's Cemetery. 

GALLANT, Paul Maynard

The funeral service for Maynard Gallant, beloved husband of Eunice Maynard, of North Rustico, was held Friday, July 3, 2009, at Stella Maris Roman

Catholic Church, North Rustico. The mass of Christian burial was celebrated

by Reverend Frank Jay, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily.

His wife, Eunice Maynard, and children, Cheryl Roberts, Paula Gallant, Patrick Gallant, Lisa Gallant-Murphy and Colleen Doiron, placed the pall on the casket.

FERGUSON, Hazel Ruth

The funeral for Hazel Ruth Ferguson was held Tuesday, July 7, 2009, from Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel where the service was conducted by Reverend Dr. Gordon Matheson. The organist was Helen MacRae. During the service, Bernard Vandergaag sang Amazing Grace and Til The Storm Passes By. The congregational hymn was To God Be The Glory. Honorary pallbearers were all those in attendance. Pallbearers were Kenneth Carr, Eric Roberts, Mark MacPhail, Donald Buell, David Buell, Alan Douglas and George Clark Dunning. Flowerbearers were Danielle MacPhail, Mary Hemphill, Celia Ferguson and Patsy Scott. The LOL and LOBA held a memorial service at the funeral home Monday, conducted by Worthy Mistress, Sister Jean Bullman assisted by Chaplain, Sister Dolly Gillis and director of ceremonies, Sister Phyllis MacLean.

WOOD, T. Mildred

The funeral for T. Mildred Wood was held on Saturday, July 18, 2009, from Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel where the service was conducted by President James Rea. The organist was Sister Mary MacEachern. Under the direction of the music conductor, Sister Denise Arsenault, the congregation sang I Need Thee Every Hour and Nearer, My God, To Thee. Brother Bobby Simmons sang Beautiful Woman and Heaven In your Eyes. Prayers were offered by Brother Joshua Biggley and Sister Joyce Kennedy. Speakers were Brother Doug MacKay and Brother Richard Campbell. Words of remembrance were shared by daughter Gloria Simmons and Sister Pat Steen. The dedication of the grave was conducted by President Blair Aitken. Interment took place in Hazelbrook Baptist Cemetery. Those attending the service included staff of Atlantic Fish Speciality (AFS). 

CULLEN, Lena Mae

The funeral for Lena M. Cullen of Charlottetown was held Friday, July 3, 2009, from Zion Presbyterian Church where Reverend Dr. Gordon Matheson conducted the funeral service. During the funeral service, soloist Gaye Hood sang the hymns, Beyond The Sunset, What A Friend We Have In Jesus, and the recessional hymn, Battle Hymn Of The Republic. The entrance hymn, How Great Thou Art, was an instrumental. The organist was Elizabeth Lang. Pallbearers were sons, Dan Butch Stewart, Brian Stewart, Sterling Cullen, Wayne Cullen, Brad Cullen and Sheldon Cullen. Flowerbearers were grandchildren, Kory Gregory, Jared Hughes, Keir Gass, Sydney Dingwell, Jody Stewart and Shawn Hughes. Honorary pallbearers were all those in attendance. The interment took place in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery where Rev. Dr. Matheson conducted the graveside service. Completion of funeral arrangements was entrusted to Cutcliffe Funeral Home.
