Over 40 Souris and area parents gathered in front of Province House Tuesday night to protest what they say are broken promises by the Ghiz government regarding the Souris K-12 school. There were some verbal fireworks when the parents confronted Education Minister Alan McIsaac as he was about to enter the legislature. Several parents who are also members of the construction committee say they "reluctantly" voted in favour of the option to renovate the old high school with the alloted $20 million, instead of the brand new K-12 building which had initially been promised by government. |
