Gary Wayne Wilbert Arsenault, 57, of Kingston, N.S., passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, N.S. Born in Summerside, P.E.I., he was a son of Rose Adele Arsenault, Wellington, and the late Joseph Albert Arsenault. Gary had retired after 22 years service with the Canadian Forces as a photo technician stationed in Trenton, Ont., Cold Lake, Alta., and Greenwood, N.S. For the past 11 years he served with the Reserves at 14 Wing Greenwood. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 98 Kingston. Gary loved fishing, was an avid golfer and a long-time member of the Greenwood Golf Club. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife and best friend, Donna Arsenault (Anderson), Kingston; his son, Matthew Arsenault, Peterborough, Ont., who was the light of his life; sister, Donna MacLean, Summerside; brothers, Angus Arsenault, Lexington, Kentucky; Claude Arsenault, Birch Hill, P.E.I.; Steven Arsenault, Sackville, N.S.; and Rob Arsenault, Winnipeg, Man. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, in Queen of Heaven Chapel, 14 Wing Greenwood, with Father Tim Nelligan officiating, beginning with a Royal Canadian Legion tribute service conducted by Kingston Branch No. 98. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
