Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, with his family by his side of George DesRoches of the Tignish Seniors Co-op Home, aged 86 years. Born on Jan. 3, 1924, he was the son of the late Dominick and Madeline (nee Poirier) DesRoches. Dear brother to Willie (Irma) DesRoches of Cocagne, N.B.; Mary (Keir) Vincent of Montrose; Freda Gaudet of Tignish Shore; and Sylvina Melanson of Cocagne, N.B. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers and sister, John James, Everett, Joseph, Gerald, Alexander, Cedric, Edgar, and Edna Gaudet. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday, Sept. 11, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Tignish Seniors Co-op Home would be gratefully appreciated.
