KIRK, Beverly Ann

Beverly Kirk was born on April 3, 1953, in Charlottetown, P.E.I., to Ralph Donnell Young and Edith Cavell (née Compton) Young. She grew up in Wood Islands and Montague, then moving to Charlottetown, where she met her future husband, J. Dan Kirk in 1974 while working as a dental hygienist.
Bev always had a deep love for children, teaching Sunday school at church and often taking care of many children in her home.
She began a gourmet gift basket business (Moments In Time) out of her home in Toronto, and continued it over the past 12 years.
She was a dedicated member of the Truth Tabernacle of Greater Moncton. She loved gardening, painting and going for long walks with the dog.
Bev lived her life with courage and purpose. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 36 years, J. Daniel Kirk; and four children, James Daniel Kirk III, Ryan Matthew Kirk, Carolyn Ann Bailey and Jessica Lynn Kirk; two brothers, Ralph Donnell Young Jr. and John William Young; and three grandsons, Jayden, Logan and Alex.
She died on August 30, 2010, after suffering a stroke a couple days prior.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, N.B., on Thursday, September 2, 2010, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to Miller Lake Camp - Youth Ministries at P.O. Box 2354 Wolfville, Nova Scotia, B4P 2N5. Donations will be used for infrastructure improvements at the camp for youth. Any questions should be directed to (902) 403-5551.
