The death occurred at her late residence, on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, of Gladys Lecky, of Hawthorne Avenue, Summerside, aged 87 years. Born in Tyne Valley, she was the daughter of the late William "Will" and Amelia (Brown) Ellis. Survived by her children, George (Marge) Lecky; Helen (Lorne) Arsenault; Millie (Steve) Kirby; Tina (Richard) Burness; Desmond Lecky (Joyce Robertson); Eileen Warren (Bernie Jacobsen); Greg (Jane) Lecky; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-grat-grandchildren; sistes Elvira Gorrill and Bertha MacLeod; and sister-in-law Loretta MacDonald. Predeceased by her husband Leo Lecky; infant son Joseph Leo; grandson Michael Kirby; great-great-grandaughter Faith Hope Walker; brothrs George and Leonard Ellis; sister Olivene Cotton; and son-in-law Lewis Warren. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Hospice Palliative Care would be appreciated.
