Eleanor (Nora) Wilson died at her home in West Branch on Friday, August 20, 2010.
She leaves to mourn her son, Daniel Shortall; and her parents, Fred and Winnie Wilson; also five brothers, Townsend (Joanne), Grant (Diane), Douglas (Shauna), Mark (Lisa), Bruce (Pamela); as well as three sisters, Jean (Jack), April and Sally (Mark). Nora loved her many nieces and nephews. Peter Leger had a special place in her life.
As manager of the Southeastern Farmers Co-op, Moncton, Nora leaves to mourn her staff and her many customers.
Nora had graduated from Oultons Business College and later the Atlantic Baptist College. Through her work with Co-op Atlantic she was the recipient of a number of Achievement Awards. She was in her second term as a member of the District Education Council. She sat on the Parent Committees at Bonar Law Memorial High School and the Eleanor W. Graham Middle School where she was instrumental in raising funds for the new larger gymnasium in the new school.
Nora loved music, and singing in the church choir. She volunteered willingly as a member of the comedy duo, Betty and Marge.
She attended Zion Presbyterian Church, West Branch, from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at 2 p.m. with the committal in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 24, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Memorials may be given towards books for the new library at the Eleanor W. Graham School, or to the Flower Fund at Zion Cemetery, or to a charity of choice.
