Montague Intermediate students deserve promised expansion

Dear Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and extend my full support to the students of Montague Intermediate petitioning the government to fulfill their promise for an expansion to their band and industrial arts rooms.
To Eve MacKinnon and Chloe Jardine I offer my support in your efforts to hold this government accountable for their promise to you and your fellow students. The leadership you have displayed is remarkable and I find it disappointing that is has taken such measures for the premier to recognize the severity of this situation.
The current government claims they cannot put a price on the health and safety of our Island students. Yet, this is exactly what they are doing to the students at Montague Intermediate School.
As MLA for Georgetown-St. Peter’s, I will continue to offer my full support to the students and staff of Montague Intermediate and will be a strong voice for the residents of District 2 and surrounding area.
I encourage all residents of the Montague area to sign their names to the petition in support of this much needed expansion. Together, we will hold government accountable for their promise to the students of Montague Intermediate School.

Sincerely,
Steven Myers
MLA, Georgetown/St Peter’s
