The Northumberland Novice A Yellow team members were the first to get their photo taken with the Stanley Cup upon its arrival at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Montague Thursday morning. The Northumberland and Montague Novice teams had just completed a game at the Wellness Centre, and both teams got up close and personal with this piece of hockey history. Wellness staff say they stopped counting after 700 but estimated at least 1,000 people dropped in to see the Cup. David MacDonald photo

As ‘The Keeper of the Cup’, Phil Pritchard is the only person, other than the winners of the NHL Holy Grail, who is authorized to carry it from place to place, and he was on hand for all of the stops on the Stanley Cup Relay as it went across the Island this week. David MacDonald photo

Question (not verified) on Fri, 02/17/2012 - 19:31

Why was it allowed that the Montague Rink was charging five dollars to get a Picture with the Stanley Cup? I do know that the Money went to the PeeWee Hamilton trip but this was just crazy! No other Rink on the Island did so!
