Lavandier new Georgetown mayor

Lewis Lavandier won the Georgetown municipal election Monday evening by beating challenger Michael Gallant by 48 votes.
Mr Lavandier, who became acting mayor after the resignation of Peter Llewellyn earlier this year, received 159 votes while former mayor Mr Gallant received 111 votes.
The four councillors who chose to reoffer were all voted back into office, including Wade Williams, Peggy King, Faye McQuillan and Craig Murphy, while Allan J Gallant and Ronald Gallant filled the remaining two seats.
