Marines play home on holiday weekend

The Montague Marines are preparing for two home games on Sunday, February 14 th and Tuesday February 16 th both at 8pm at the Montague Wellness Centre. The Sunday game on Valentine’s Day will be against the O’Leary Maroons, who are currently in a close race for third place with the Tignish Aces. The Tuesday game follows the official opening of the new Wellness Centre on the Monday holiday—Islander Day. The Marines are hosting the improved Wellington Flyers, who have added several former Summerside Western Capital players, including D’arcy Hutchinson, who was captain of the team that won the Royal Bank Cup.
“We are trying to nail down first place this holiday weekend and the fans will see skilled hockey with an aggressive edge,” said Marines’ captain, Wade Stewart. “Each team is trying to gain home ice advantage leading up to the playoffs.”
