Crews from the Department of Transportation and Public Works dealt with some coastal damage and erosion at St Andrew's Point in Lower Montague Thursday. The damage resulted from a recent windstorm and tidal surge. The work included piling rocks from the shore, and laying down a special type of fabric along the shoreline, before putting the rocks back on top of the fabric in hopes of holding off any more erosion at least until the spring. The crane seen here is operated by private contractor Jamie Miller of Murray River. David MacDonald photo
