Souris shows its love for Stanley
First photo: The Stanley Cup made its final stop in eastern PEI this afternoon when it arrived at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex in Souris, where a long lineup had already formed in anticipation of catching a glimpse of the historic trophy. Many of the hundreds of fans who filed into the Sportsplex had a chance to touch the Cup, but Drew McClumpha, right, of Fortune did one better by kissing it, much like many of his hockey heroes did whenever they won the coveted NHL championship. Second photo:
Georgia Fraser, Grade 3 student from Souris Consolidated, was one of three lucky people who won a draw to have their photo taken with the Stanley Cup, and she brought some friends as well as her mom to join in this opportunity of a lifetime. Front from left are Addie MacPhee, Georgia Fraser and Brooklyn McInnis, and back from left are Allie Clinton and Krista Kelly-Fraser. David MacDonald photo
