Hundreds of people formed a line outside Morell Consolidated Thursday morning to get a glimpse of the Stanley Cup as it made its way through eastern PEI as part of Hockey Day in Canada. While many people wanted to get up close with the famed NHL trophy, they were also very supportive of the pancake breakfast also taking place at the school, with proceeds going towards the Grade 8 trip and Morell Consolidated sports teams. The Cup will arrive at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Montague at 10:50am, and then at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex in Souris at 12:30pm.

Third photo: Stewart Barry, left, son of Darcy and Lori of Morell, smiles as he wears one of the championship rings won by the members of the Edmonton Oilers organization for their 1990 Stanley Cup win. Don MacAdam of Morell, right, owner of the ring, was part of the Oilers organization in 1990 when he was head coach of the affiliated Cape Breton Oilers, and was on hand for the Hockey Day in Canada festivities at Morell Consolidated.
