The funeral for Francis "Frank" Arsenault, husband of the late Lillian (Poirier) Arsenault, of Summerside, was held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, from the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, where funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Brian MacDougall who proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily, assisted by Father Gerard McIver and Deacon Cyrus J. Gallant who led in the prayers of the faithful. Cross bearer was George Olscamp. Candle bearers were Ivan Pineau and Marcel Gallant. Incense bearer was Cecil Cameron. The first and second readings were given by Clem Gallant. Processional hymn was "Amazing Grace". Hymns were "Here I Am Lord" and "Take and Eat". Recessional hymn was "Sing With All the Saints in Glory". Organist was Geraldine Hynes. St. Paul's Choir was under the direction of Meghan Bowen. Ushers were Yvonne Gallant and Louise Poirier. Pallbearers were John Bernard, Jason Arsenault, Rod Arsenault, Gerard MacLellan, Mitchel Arsenault and Tim Sonier. Flower bearers were Amanda Arsenault and Jaime Richard. Attending the funeral mass were Mayor Basil Stewart and members of the City of Summerside council; and members of the Summerside Police Service. Interment was in St. Paul's Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian MacDougall officiating.
