The funeral service for Irene M. Bernard, of Charlottetown and formerly of Tignish, was held Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, from the Hennessey Funeral Home Chapel where the service was conducted by Lieutenant Ian Scott and Lieutenant Deanna Scott. During the service, words of remembrance on behalf of the family were shared by Jean Handrahan, and a poem was read by Susan Kaiser. The congregational hymns were The Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace. The organist was Judy Donovan Whitty. Pallbearers were Carol MacDonald, Dave Gibbs, Evelyn MacLure, Elwood Begg, Howard Sinclair and Jason Perry. The interment took place in the Sherwood Cemetery where the graveside service was conducted by Lieutenant Ian Scott.
