The funeral for Margaret Louise Blakeney of Rayner Creek Road, Travellers Rest, was held Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel, Kensington, where President Blair Aitken conducted the service at 11 a.m. The opening prayer was given by Blaine Blakeney. Scripture readings were given by Bonita Blakeney and Jewel Blakeney. The eulogy was given by Kevin Waugh. The closing prayer was given by Josh Blakeney. The speakers were Barry Blakeney and President Jamie Rea. The duet of Lewis and Eileen Simmons rendered the selection In The Garden accompanied by pianist Linda Cousins. The opening hymn was Nearer My God To Thee and the closing hymn was God Be With You Till We Meet Again. Pianist was Eileen Simmons. Attending the funeral was staff of Walmart. Pallbearers were Blaine Blakeney, Bruce Adams, Wilfred Dalton, Reg Gallant, Wallace MacMurdo and Willard Blakeney. Flowerbearers were Josh Blakeney, Kenny Blakeney, Dylan Lewis, Emily Waugh, Natalie Blakeney, Amanda Blakeney and Vanessa Blakeney. Interment was in People's Cemetery, Kensington.
