The funeral for Angela Blanchard was held Wednesday July 21. 2010 from the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road to the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road where funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Art Pendergast who also delivered the homily and had the prayers fo final commendation and farewell. The first reading was read by aunt Marie Doucette. The second reading was read by friend Joanne Keefe. The prayers of the faithful were read by cousin Irene MacIsaac.
The adult church choir sang under the direction of Velda Gallant accompanied by organist Anita Doucette. The entrance hymn was "By Name I Have Called You". The psalm was "Psalm Of The Good Shepherd". The communion hymn was "I Watch The Sunrise".The farewell song was "Saints Of God" and the recessional hymn was "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus".
The altar servers were cross bearer Austin Bernard, candle bearers Kathleen Doucette and Flo Delaney.
The eucharistic ministers were Joe & Delima Dugay, Cathy Corrigan and Mary Ann Nelligan.
Attending the funeral were representatives from Tignish Tops.
Honorary pallbearers were Ivan, Theresa, Crystal, Jason and Isabel Hardy, Frank, Joanne, Floyd and Karen Keefe, Jimmy Doucette, Henry Perry, Theresa Arsenault, Nelson Shea, Rita Chaisson, Edward Richard, Linda Perry, Gladys Kenny, Maureen Doyle, Janet Richard, Patsy Handrahan, Gary Richard and Aldona Doucette.
The active pallbearers were brothers Paul, Lloyd and Gussie Bernard, Edward Doucette, Neil Perry and Chris Harper. The flowerbearers were Seth, Kali, Devon and Kendal Bernard. Cremation followed.
