BLANCHARD, Georgie

The funeral for Georgie Blanchard of Kensington and formerly of Kinkora, wife of the late Henry Blanchard, was held Thursday, February 4, 2010, from the Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora, to St. Malachy's Church, Kinkora, where funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. by Rev. George Smith, who also delivered the homily. Cross bearer was Marion Stordy. Mass servers were Gerald Stordy and Neville Lawless. The first reading from the book of Ecclesiastes was given by grandson, Wade Flett. The second reading from the letter of Paul to the Romans and the prayers of the faithful were given by grandson Ivan Gallant. The parish funeral choir sang the entrance hymn, "Amazing Grace"; offertory hymn, "Come As You Are"; communion hymn, "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman" and recessional hymn, "How Great Thou Art". Organist was Elaine Smith. Eucharistic minister was Betty Smith. Usher was Frank McCardle. Pallbearers were grandsons Gary Babineau, Adam Rush, Kevin Doucet, Brian Steele, Chad Blanchard, Brad Blanchard and Derrick Cary. All people attending Georgie's funeral were considered to be honorary pallbearers. Interment will be later in the parish cemetery.
