CARRAGHER, Owen Augustine

The funeral mass for Owen Augustine Carragher, of Charlottetown and formerly of Brookvale, was held Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, from the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, to St. Joseph's Church, Kelly's Cross, where the funeral mass was celebrated by Father Paul Egan, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed by his family. His niece, Paula Carragher, delivered the first reading. His niece, Stacey Dougay, who also led the prayers of intercession, read the second reading. Cross bearer was Elaine Molyneaux and candle bearers were Angelina Richards and Kelly Hughes. Lay minister was Mary Matters. St. Joseph's Church choir under the direction of Darlene Lowther provided music. Organist was Ralph McQuaid. Opening hymn was Amazing Grace and offertory hymn was Isaiah 49. The communion hymn was a solo, Come To The Water, by Darlene Lowther. Incensing of the casket hymn was Peace Is Flowing Like A River and the recessional hymn was How Great Thou Art. Honorary pallbearers were all in attendance. Pallbearers were Kenny Carragher, David Carragher, Jason Morris, Darcy Morris, Albert Hickox and Frank Curley. Interment will take place later in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud.
