The largely attended funeral for Reginald (Reggie) Chaisson of St Edward was held Friday August 6, 2010 from the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road to the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road where funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Art Pendergast assisted by Rev. Eddie Cormier and Rev. Melvin Doucette. Rev. Pendergast delivered the homily and had the prayers of final commendation and farewell.
The first reading was read by Lynn Compton. The second reading was read by Delima Dugay. The prayers of the faithful were read by Abby Peters.
The adult church choir sang under the diection of Velda Gallant accompanied by organist Anita Doucette. The entrance hymn was "Here I Am Lord". The psalm was "Psalm Of The Good Shepherd". The communion hymn was "To You Yahweh I Lift My Soul" and Reggie’s 5 sisters sang "He Only Takes The Best" accompanied on guitars played by Wilma Jones and Anita Doucette. The farewell song was "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and the recessional hymn was "How Can I Keep From Singing" and Anita played "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus".
The eucharistic ministers were Margaret Rose Arsenault, Martin MacRae and Alice Gallant.
The altar servers were cross bearer David Wedge, candle bearers Emile Doucette and Martin MacRae.
The honorary pallbearers were Heidi Chaisson, Floyd Chaisson, Calico Arsenault, Roger Tremblay, Amanda Tremblay, Tyson MacDonald, Billy Chaisson and Joe Dugay.
The active pallbearers were brothers Wayne, Johnny, Gerald, Milton and Wilbert Chaisson, Cory Perry, Leo and Mike Chaisson.
The flowerbearers were Laura Lee Arsenault, Shannon Chaisson, Debbie Doucette, Wendy Chaisson, Karlee MacDonald, Cameron Kinch, Brayden and Nicholas Handrahan.
Interment was in the parish cemetery.
