The funeral for Willard L. Cole of Margate was held Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel, Kensington, where the service was conducted at 10 a.m. by Rev. Cathy Pharo. Scripture readings were given by Kelly Cole and Lisa Brennan. Prayers were offered by Noel Cole-MacEwen. Congregational hymns were Will Your Anchor Hold and Haven Of Rest. Recessional hymn was Shall We Gather At The River. Organist was Laura Pidgeon. Attending the funeral were staff of Cavendish Farms, staff of the Malpeque Bay Credit Union and Friends 2000. Honorary pallbearers were Marvin and Susan Graham, Wade Graham, Don Clark, Barry Bertram, Claire Hynes, J. Earl Murphy, Ronnie Arsenault, Percy Stein, Dale Paynter, Terry and Mary Paynter and Russell Paynter. Pallbearers were David Cole, Randy Cole, Ron Crozier, Roger Cole, Delmar Cole and Brian Paynter. Flowerbearers were Darlene Cole, Gail Carr, Sherry Wedge, Debbie Thompson and Susan Murphy. Interment was in St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Spring Brook. At the cemetery, Bugler Angela Profit played Last Post and Reveille. Comrades of the Lt. Col. E.W. Johnstone Branch #9 Kensington Royal Canadian Legion held a service of remembrance at the funeral home Tuesday evening, conducted at 8 p.m. by Comrade Ian MacGougan. Comrades Joseph Arsenault, David Doucette, Lloyd Banks and Dean Cole formed the colour party. The silence was broken by the branch president, sergeant-at-arms Comrade Denny Hopping.
