The funeral mass for Bernice Belle Conway of Old Appin Road was held Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2010, from the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, to St. Joseph's Church, Kellys Cross, where funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Paul Egan who also proclaimed the gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed by her family. Prayers of intercession were led by David Condon. Altar servers and candle bearers were Leo McDonald and Ian Nantes. Cross bearer was James Gorman. Music was provided by St. Joseph's Choir under the direction of Darlene Lowther. Organist was Angelina Richards. Opening hymn was "Be Not Afraid." The hymn of meditation, "The Last Mile of the Way", was a solo sung by Fr. Egan. Offertory hymn was "Amazing Grace." Communion hymn was "There is a River." Incensing of casket hymn was "Peace is Flowing Like a River" and recessional hymn was "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Ricky Conway, Angus MacLeod, Neil Ellsworth, David Condon, Allan Gallant and Robert Gallant. Flower bearers were grandchildren Rachele, Zachery and Ella Conway. Interment took place in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud.
