CORRIGAN, Mary Teresa
The funeral for Mary T. Corrigan, of Charlottetown and formerly of Tracadie, was held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, from Hennessey Funeral Home to St. Bonaventure's Church, Tracadie Cross, where the funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Lyndon Hogan, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The lessons were proclaimed by nieces Janet Jones and Debbie Dougan. The prayers of intercession were offered by niece Gwen Vessey. The funeral mass was sung by Judy Donovan-Whitty and Flora Anne Whitty. During the funeral mass they sang the processional hymn, Blest Are They; the psalm, To You O Lord I Lift My Soul; the offertory hymn, Ave Maria; communion hymn, Oh Sacred Heart Oh Love Devine; and the recessional hymn, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman. Pallbearers were nephews, David Corrigan, Wayne Corrigan, Tommy Corrigan, Reggie Steele, Derek Steele; and grandnephew, Troy Corrigan. Among those attending the funeral liturgy were Sisters of the Congregation of Saint Martha, members of St. Bonaventure's CWL and residents group of Pownal Square. The interment took place in the family plot at St. Bonaventure's Parish Cemetery where the graveside service was conducted by Father Hogan.
