CROKEN, M. Allison
The funeral for Allison Croken of Charlottetown was held Saturday, November 28, 2009, from the Hennessey Funeral Home to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer where the concelebrated funeral mass was offered by Reverend Floyd Gallant as chief celebrant and homilist. He was assisted by Reverend Lyndon Hogan. The first lessons were proclaimed by his granddaughter, Monica Gaudet, and Leslie Condon. Granddaughter Laura Gaudet offered the prayers of intercession. The funeral mass was sung by Holy Redeemer funeral choir under the direction of Tom Wilkinson. The organist was Gary Cudmore. During the funeral mass, the choir sang the processional hymn, On Eagles Wings; responsorial psalm, Rest In God Alone; offertory hymn, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; communion hymn, I Am The Bread Of Life; incensing hymn, Go To Your God; and the recessional hymn, How Great Thou Art. Soloist, Tom Wilkinson, sang the reflection hymn, Panis Angelicus. Pallbearers were Pat Campbell, Bill Duffy, David Duffy, and grandsons, David Gaudet, Robert Gaudet and Michael Chandler. Honorary pallbearers were Rudy and Ruth Croken, Cathy and Paul Croken, Frank Bradley, Ken and Jeanne McInnis, Ann Campbell and Rupert Chandler. Church usher was Keith Wakelin. The interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown, where Father Gallant and Father Hogan conducted the graveside service. Among those attending the funeral liturgy were Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame and retired staff of the Charlottetown Guardian and Patriot.
