The funeral for Daisy Dawson of Bedeque, wife of the late Sydney Dawson, was held Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, from the Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora, to North Tryon Presbyterian Church, where service was conducted by Rev. Andrew Hutchinson at 11 a.m. Congregational hymns were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee". Organist was David Waddell. Eulogy was given by Nancy MacFadyen. The hymn "How Great Thou Art" was sung by soloist Ann Visser. Scriptural readings from Psalm 23 and Romans 8 were read by Elizabeth Ferguson. Ushers were Wyman Waddell and Stephen Hardy. Honorary pallbearers were Adam Howatt, Andy and May Mullis, Blanche Cairns, Bert and Shirley Thompson, Lester and Martha Perry, Lillian Dawson, Joyce Bramer, Lynda Quigley, Ruth Cutcliffe, Ralph and Lorraine MacDonald, Flo MacDougall, Joyce Affleck, Grace Paynter, Louise Thompson, Wyman and Mary Waddell, Tom Dawson, Wilfred and Sheila Winn and Gladys Walsh. Pallbearers were grandsons Jason Dawson, Greg Dawson, Joey DesRoches, Bobby Smith, Robbie Bell, Robbie Warren and Mike Smith. Flowerbearers were grandchildren Patti Bell, Becky McKenna, Shannon Warren, Pamela McKenna, Angie DesRoches, Kari Ferguson, Suzanne Smith and Roxanne Smith. Attending the funeral were management and staff of South Shore Pharmacy, members of Seniors Rainbow Club, North Tryon Women's Institute and representatives of the Village of Crapaud. Interment will take place later in North Tryon Presbyterian Church cemetery.
