DEAGLE, Mary Angelina

The funeral for Mary Deagle, wife of the late Alphonsus (Foncy) Deagle, of Charlottetown, was held Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Rustico. The mass of Christian burial was presided over by Reverend Frank Jay, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed on the casket by nieces, Lorna St. Jules, Anita Richards, Annette Gallant and Audrey Jamieson. The first reading, from Isaiah, and the prayers of intercession, were addressed by niece, Lorraine Gallant. The second reading, from Romans, was addressed in French by nephew, Arthur Buote. Harold Doucette was the altar server and cross bearer. Annette Gallant, Anne Marie Buote and Marina Murphy assisted Father Jay as eucharistic ministers. Music was provide by the church choir with Edward Blanchard as organist and Phyllis Arsenault as choir director. The hymns were: Entrance, Be Not Afraid; psalm, The Lord's My Shepherd; offertory, Here I Am, Lord; communion, Amazing Grace; commendation, Songs Of The Angels; and recessional, J'irai La Voir Un Jour. Pallbearers were Arthur Buote, Marcel Buote, Bernard Gallant, Charles Gallant, John Gallant and Maurice St. Jules. Flowerbearers were Claude Buote and Cedric Richards. Interment took place in St. Augustine's Cemetery where Father Jay conducted the committal service. The funeral was under the direction of the Central Queen's Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
