DOIRON, Mary Edwina
The funeral for Mary Doiron of Saint John, N.B., and formerly of Hope River, P.E.I., was held Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Hope River. The presider for the mass of Christian burial was Reverend Frank Jay, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. Placing of the pall was by grandchildren, Mary McKenna, Gerarda Muenster, Jimmy McKenna, Jeff Gallant and Scott Gallant. The first reading, from Ecclesiastes, was proclaimed by Cathy Kuske. The second reading, from Romans, was proclaimed by Donna McIsaac. Glenda Blanchard led the prayers of the faithful. Crossbearer was Hermine Stringer. Incense and holy water bearer was Robert Stringer and altar servers were Estelle Bourgeois and Audrey Day. Marion Murphy and Marina Doiron assisted Father Jay as eucharistic ministers. Music was provided by the church choir with Shirley Doiron as organist and Sister Audrey Brocklehurst as song leader. The hymns rendered were: Entrance, Come As You Are; psalm, The Lord Is My Shepherd, with Lionel Doiron as cantor; offertory, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; communion, Lord, You Have Come; commendation, Songs Of The Angels; and the recessional, How Great Thou Art. Honorary pallbearers were all family and friends who were in attendance. Pallbearers were Jeff Gallant, Scott Gallant, Mike McIsaac, Jimmy McKenna, Wally Muenster and Garth Silliker. Representatives of the St. Ignatius Women's Institute were in attendance. Interment service took place in St. Anne's Church Cemetery under the direction of Father Jay. Arrangements were entrusted to Central Queen's Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
