The funeral for Sammy Donovan was held Monday, December 21, 2009, from the Hennessey Funeral Home Chapel where the funeral service was conducted by Reverend John Lacey, who also delivered the homily. Prior to the service, sister-in-law Phyllis Ferrare gave words of remembrance. Sister-in-law Phyllis Ferrare and niece Kelsie Donovan read the lessons. Sister-in-law Debbie Donovan offered the prayers of intercession. During the funeral, organist Flora Anne Whitty rendered the hymns Amazing Grace and Day Is Done. Pallbearers were friends, Russell Drake and Everett Gauthier; cousin, Allie Donovan; nephews, Mitchell Donovan, Darren Trainor and Derrick Donovan. The interment took place in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Crapaud, where Father Lacey held the graveside service.
