DOUCETTE, Joseph Walter

The funeral for the late Joseph Walter Doucette, formerly of Tignish, was held on Saturday, January 16, 2010, from the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, to St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, where funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. James Willick who delivered the homily and had the prayers of final commendation and farewell. The first reading was addressed by Nathan Blanchard. The second reading was addressed by Jimmy Arsenault. The prayers of the faithful were addressed by Julia Doucette. The cross bearer was George Doucette. The candle bearers were Joseph DesRoches and Louis Shea. The altar server was James Hogan. The choir was under the direction of Vincent Doucette and the organist was Antoinette Perry. The entrance hymn was "The Lord's My Shepherd". The Psalm was "I Will Praise Your Name Forever My King and My God". The offertory hymn was "The Prayers of St. Francis". The communion hymn was "Amazing Grace". The song of farewell was "Songs of the Angels". The recessionmal hymn was "How Great Thou Art". The pallbearers were Eddie Doucette, Aubrey Arsenault, Nelson Arsenault, Darcy Blanchard, Tyler Perry, Nathan Blanchard. The flower bearers were Scott Blanchard, Monique Bernard, Christine Blanchard, Sky Rose McLean. Interment will take place later in the church cemetery.
