DOUCETTE, Kathryn May

The funeral for Kay Doucette, wife of the late Roland Doucette, of Rustico, was held Saturday, December 12, 2009, at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Rustico. The mass of Christian burial was presided over by Reverend Frank Jay who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. Her children, Lorraine Fraser, Janice Pineau and Jim Doucette, placed the pall on the casket. The first reading from Ecclesiastes and the second reading from John, using the personal Holy Bible of the deceased, were addressed by Judy Parsons. The prayers of intercessions were led by Father Jay. Crossbearer was Harold Doucette. Marie Doiron assisted Father Jay as eucharistic minister. Music was provided by the church choir under the direction of Phyllis Arsenault with Shane Arsenault as organist. The hymns were: Entrance, Amazing Grace; psalm, The Lord's My Shepherd; offertory, Here I Am, Lord; communion, Lord, You Have Come; commendation, Songs Of The Angels; and the recessional, How Great Thou Art. Pallbearers were Brian Cox, Matthew Doucette, Michael Doucette, Philip Doucette, Wesley Doucette and Kevin Gallant. Flowerbearers were staff of Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home: Katie MacLean, Roger MacRae, Elaine McKenna, Amanda Ramsay and Darlene Waye. Interment was in St. Augustine's Church Cemetery where Father Jay conducted the committal service. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Central Queen's Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
