The funeral for Joanne Marie Dykerman was held Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, from Belvedere Funeral Home to St. Peter's Bay Roman Catholic Church where the mass was presided over by Father Lyndon Hogan assisted by Rev. Mark Buell. Father Lyndon Hogan proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. Jan Meulenkamp and Paul MacKinnon proclaimed the readings. Jocelyn and Mike Peterson led the assembly in the prayers of intercession. The altar servers were Cameron Glover and Benjamin MacKinnon. Paul MacKinnon, Teresa MacKinnon, Barbie Thompson and Mary MacSwain placed the pall. The organist was Larry Phelan. The choir, under the direction of Larry Phelan, led the assembly in singing Here I Am Lord, The Lord Is My Shepherd, Peace Is Flowing Like A River, Come To The Water, Amazing Grace and Lord Of The Dance. Honorary pallbearers were everyone present. Pallbearers were Travis Dykerman, Matthew Dykerman, Craig Dykerman, Bob Glover, Stewart MacSwain and Robbie Thompson. Interment took place in St. Peter's Bay Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. Those attending the service included staff of Montague Consolidated School, members of the P.E.I. Vegetable Growers Co-op Association, representatives from Hospice Palliative Care Association of P.E.I. and staff of Brookfield Gardens.
