GAUDIN, Joseph Guillaume

The funeral mass for Joseph Gaudin of Charlottetown was celebrated Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Chief celebrant was Father Keith Kennific who proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. Concelebrants were Father John Lacey and Father Charles Cheverie. The pall was placed by his children, Urbain Gaudin, Julien Gaudin, Anne Marie Buote, Bernadette Field and Cecilia Doiron. The first reading, from Wisdom, was proclaimed by Lisa Pollard. The second reading, from Romans, was proclaimed by Alana Guistizia. Lorna Gaudin and Dolores Gaudin led the prayers of the faithful. Altar servers were Joe McCarthy, Ozzie MacKinnon, Lou Daley and Joe Martell. The usher was Bruce Garrity. Father Kennific was assisted by Giselle Dalton as eucharistic minister. Music was provided by the combined choirs of St. Pius X and St. Augustin'e churches with Karen Power as organist and Eileen Flanagan as choir director. The hymns were: Entrance, Amazing Grace; Psalm, The Lord Is My Shepherd; offertory, Ave Maria with Eileen Flanagan as soloist; communion, Christians, Let Us Love One Another; post communion, violin solo by Father Cheverie; commendation, Songs Of The Angels; and recessional, How Great Thou Art. Honorary pallbearers were all family and friends who were present. Pallbearers were Todd Gaudin, Phillip Buote, Chris Field, Jeremy Buote, Russell Buote, Alex Field and André Gaudin. Flowerbearers were Giselle Dalton, Mary Ellen Buote, Maria Gaudin, Emily Doiron and Kelsey Doiron. Representatives from P.E.I. Credit Unions were in attendance. Interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown, where Father Kennific conducted the committal service. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Central Queen's Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
