The funeral for Dolena (Dolly) Gillis was held Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, from Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel where Rev. Roger MacPhee conducted the service. The organist was Helen MacRae. During the service, Stephen Bouey sang Amazing Grace and Precious Memories. The congregational hymn was Sweet By And By. Winston Bryan shared family remarks and a poem. Honorary pallbearers were all present. Fisheries and Oceans and members of the Charlottetown Fire Department formed an honour guard. Pallbearers were Doug MacKinnon, Shawn MacKinnon, Sheldon MacKinnon, Carey Gillis, Mike Molyneaux and David Anderson. Interment took place in St. John's Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Belfast, P.E.I. Those attending the funeral service included members of LOL and LOBA and Seniors Active Living Centre, staff of Department of Fisheries and Oceans, residents of 18 Glen Stewart Drive, members of The Road Runners, Club 56, Charlottetown Fire Department, Belfast Fire Department and staffs of Veterans Affairs and the City of Charlottetown. LOL and LOBA held a prayer service at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon.
