GREEN, Katherine Eulalia

The funeral mass for Kay Green, of Charlottetown and formerly of Stratford and Emerald, was celebrated Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at St. James Church, Summerfield, with Fr. Paul Egan officiating, proclaiming the Gospel and delivering the homily. Placing of the pall was by sons, Paul, Lee, Tom and Roger Green. Daughter-in-law, Imelda Green, proclaimed first reading and granddaughter, Laurie Ings, proclaimed the second reading. Granddaughter, Shaunna Smith, offered prayers of intercession. Daughter, Georgie Smith, offered words of remembrance. The eucharistic minister was son-in-law, Leo Murphy. The gift bearers were daughters, Georgie Smith, Shirley Murphy, Mary Al Duffy and Nancy Bulger. The cross bearer was Lorraine Mulligan; incense bearer was Robbie McSweeney and the altar servers were Leo Murphy and Leroy DesRoches. St. James Church choir provided music and soloists were great-granddaughter, Morissa Ings, and granddaughter, Traci Romyn. The hymns rendered were: Entrance, Come As You Are; psalm, The Lord Is My Shepherd; offertory, For Those Tears I Died; communion, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman, rendered by Traci Romyn; meditation, Angel, rendered by Morissa Ings and Darren Ings; and the recessional, How Great Thou Art. Honorary pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Corey and Terrilee Bulger, Nathan Christopher, Matthew, Katherine and Graham Green, Tami Power, Dana Murphy and Mary Ellen Zalazor. Interment to follow at a later date in the church cemetery. Completion of funeral arrangements was entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford.
