HUGHES, Clayton
The funeral for Clayton Hughes of Summerset Manor, Summerside, and formerly of Emerald was held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from the Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora to St. Malachy's Church, Kinkora where funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 am by Rev. George Smith who also delivered the homily. Cross bearer was Reg Shreenan. Mass servers were Darlene MacDonald and Gerald Stordy. The first reading was proclaimed by granddaughter, Dominique Hughes and the second reading was proclaimed by grand daughter, Melanie Smith. Prayer of Intercessions was given by daughter-in-law Marietta MacCormack. The parish funeral choir sang the entrance hymn, "You Are Near"; offertory hymn, "I Will Never Forget You"; communion hymn, "Come As You Are" and recessional hymn, "How Great Thou Art". Organist was Elaine Smith. Eucharistic Minister was Paula Smith. Ushers were Ralph Duffy and Frank McCardle. Honorary pall bearers were Austin Trainor, Allison Green, Junior Matheson and Jimmy Murphy. Pall bearers were Mike Sullivan, St. Clair Croken, Eddie Deagle, John Hughes, Robert Mulligan and Mike Clark. Flower bearers were grand children Bethany Hughes, Aaron Hughes and Dominique Hughes. Interment will take place later in the parish cemetery.
