The funeral mass for Greg Hughes of Charlottetown was celebrated Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratford, with Fr. Phil Callaghan as chief celebrant, proclaiming the Gospel and delivering the homily. The urn bearer was his sister, Christine Hughes. His cousin, Dianne Myers, proclaimed first reading and his cousin, Kevin Duffy, proclaimed the second reading. His aunt, Anna Duffy, led prayers of intercession. Music was provided by Alan and Alex Keoughan. The processional hymn was Lay Your Hands; Psalm, The Lord's My Shepherd, communion, Until We Meet Again; Incense, Song of the Angels; and recessional hymn, This Alone. The eucharistic ministers were Mary McGuirk and Clair Arsenault. The cross bearer was Michael Farmer and the altar servers were Rick and Debbie Richard. The incense bearer was Clair Arsenault. Representatives from Advantage Communication Team and Frascian Lay Fraternity were present. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Fr. Phil Callaghan conducting the graveside prayers. Completion of funeral arrangements was entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
