The funeral for Daniel "Danny" Landry, husband of Sharon (MacDonald) Landry, of Summerside, was held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, from the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, where funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Brian MacDougall who delivered the homily, assisted by Deacon Cyrus J. Gallant who proclaimed the Gospel. The prayers of the faithful were led by Fred and Gisele Martin. Cross bearer was Clarence Doyle. Candle bearers were Fred Cormier and Ray Brown. Incense bearer was Marcel Gallant. The first reading was given by Ellen Collier and the second by Anne Landry. Processional hymn was "Morning Has Broken". Hymns were "Here I Am Lord" and "I Am the Bread of Life". Recessional hymn was "Sing a New Song Unto the Lord". Soloist Dave MacDonald rendered "In the Garden". Organist was Geraldine Hynes. St. Paul's Choir was under the direction of Kay Profit. Ushers were Pat McKinnon and Millie Thomarat. Parking attendant was Gordie Arsenault. Attending the funeral mass were management and staff of Vector Aerospace; staff of the Summerside Courthouse; administration staff of PCH; members of St. Paul's CWL; representatives of the sherriff's office; and MLA Gerard Greenan. Pallbearers were Ray Howatt, Roger Gaudet, Michael Landry, Vance Landry, Jamie Landry and Barry Button. Flower bearers were Laurie Hickey, Mark Hickey, Luke MacDonald, Allyson MacDonald, Sara Button, Seanna Collier, Gregory Landry and Matthew Barlow. Piper Andrew Dunsford played while members of the P.E.I. Regiment, the P.E.I. Regiment Association of Summerside, the Summerside Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 5 and AFAC 200 Wing formed an honour guard. Interment was in St. Paul's Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian MacDougall officiating.
