The funeral for John A. Laybolt was held Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, from the Hennessey Funeral Home to St. Andrew's Church, Mount Stewart, where the funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Maurice Praught who also delivered the homily. The lessons were read by nephew, Trevor MacDougall. The prayers of intercessions were offered by nephew, Kevin Laybolt. The mass was sung by the church choir under the direction of organist, Barbara McKenna. During the mass, the choir sang the processional hymn, Amazing Grace; the offertory hymn, Isaiah 49; communion hymn, Old Rugged Cross; and recessional hymn, O God Our Help In Ages Past. Pallbearers were nephews, Joey Laybolt, Shawn Laybolt, Mark Laybolt, Dale MacDougall, Michael MacDougall and Wade Laybolt. The interment will take place later in the family plot in the parish cemetery.
