The funeral service for Charles Alexander MacConnell was held Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, from Ferguson's Montague Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sheila Mallory conducted the service. Nephew, Dennis King, gave words of remembrance. During the service, Barry O'Brien sang In The Garden and Ballad Of Belleau Wood. Pallbearers were sons, Barry, Benny, Boyd, Brady, Blair and Charlie MacConnell. Flowerbearers were grandchildren, Lisa MacConnell, Chandler MacConnell, Erin Donnelly, Amie MacConnell, Jennifer Yorston, Allie Ployer, Jodi MacConnell, Morgan MacConnell and Casey MacConnell. Honorary pallbearers were Brian Donnelly, Jerry MacConnell, Terry MacDonald, Eric Jenkins, Don Roberts, Pat McQuillan, Kenny Lavie, Gordie Gotell, Tommy Manning and John S. MacDonald. Among those attending the service were management and staff of the Eastern Graphic and members of the Charlottetown Police Services. The committal took place in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Georgetown. The Royal Canadian Legion, Montague Branch #8, held a service of remembrance at the funeral home on Saturday evening. The service was conducted by Comrade Sterling Conrad. The flag bearers were Comrades Grant Dixon and Eric Weatherbie.
