The funeral for Alexander (Alex) MacCormack of Tracadie Cross was held Friday, August 13, 2010, from the Hennessey Funerall Home to St. Bonadventure's Church, Tracadie Cross, where the concelebrated funeral mass was offered by Rev. Lyndon Hogan as chief celebrant and homilist. He was assisted by Rev. John Lacey. The first lesson was read by niece, Sheila Carr, and the second lesson was read by niece, Mary MacInnis, who also offered the prayers of intercession. The funeral mass was sung by the church choir. The organist was Bernadette Power. During the service, the choir sang the entrance hymn, Be Not Afraid; the communion hymn, Jubilate Deo; and the recessional hymn, Peace Is Flowing Like A River. Pallbearers were nephews, Delmar MacInnis, Donnie MacCormack, Daniel MacCormack, Keith Burke, Brian Smith; and son-in-law, Tommy Laybolt. Among those attending the funeral were Sisters of the Congregation of St. Martha. The interment took place in St. Bonaventure's Parish Cemetery where Fr. Hogan and Fr. Lacey held the graveside service.
