The funeral mass for Charles Michael MacDonald was held on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, from Ferguson's Montague Funeral Home to St. Paul's Church, Sturgeon. The funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Bob Coady. His sisters, Margaret MacLeod and Lauretta Lannigan, placed the pall. Nieces Sarah MacLeod and Stephanie Lannigan proclaimed the readings. Niece Krista MacDonald offered prayers of the faithful. The funeral mass was sung by St. Paul's church choir under the direction of Leith and Evy Lou McCarron. The entrance hymn was Lord Of All Hopefulness; responsorial psalm, The Lord Is My Shepherd; the offertory hymn, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; communion hymn, Only A Shadow; song of farewell, Song Of The Angels; and the recessional hymn, Prayer Of St. Francis. The altar servers were Gerard Landrigan, Bernard Farrell, Lawrence Steele and Francis Lannigan. Pallbearers were brothers-in-law, Sterling Hackett, Roger MacLeod, Lennie Lannigan; and nephews, Michael MacDonald, Nicholas MacLeod and Devan Lannigan. Flowerbearers were nieces Nicole Hackett, Kathy MacDonald-Burke and Jessica MacLeod. The committal service took place in St. Paul's Parish Cemetery, Sturgeon.
