MACFARLANE, Malcolm "Mac"

The funeral for Malcolm "Mac" MacFarlane, husband of Margaret MacFarlane, of Stanley Bridge, was held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, from the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, to the Trinity United Church, Summerside, where service was conducted at 11 a.m. by Rev. Dr. David Winsor, assisted by Rev. Dr. Andrew Richardson. Candles of remembrance were lit by Margaret, Nancy, Susan, Mary, Sandy and Michael. Personal reflections were given by Malcolm's children, David, Amy and Gordon, as well as from his friend Rev. Dr. David Winsor. The taped selection of "O Beautiful Gaia" was played. Christine Anderson-Gallant and Victoria Gallant rendered the duet "We Rise Again in the Faces of Our Children". The choir led in the congregational hymns "In the Bulb There is a Flower", "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder" and "May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You". The postlude was an instrumental version of "We Rise Again". Organist was Christine Anderson-Gallant. Ushers were Aurele Arsenault and Willard Howell. Attending the funeral service were management, directors and staff of P.E.I. Mutual; employees, directors and shareholders of P.E.I. Bag Company Ltd. and Green Diamond Equipment Ltd.; representatives of the UPEI School of Business; representatives of the Law Society of P.E.I.; members of the Summerside Police Service; and members of the Summerside City Council. A private family committal service was held in People's Cemetery, Summerside.
