The funeral for M. Marcella MacMillan, RN, was held Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, from the Hennessey Funeral Home to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratford, where the funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Gerry Tingley. The funeral pall was spread over the casket by Charles MacDonald and Elizabeth Callaghan. The lessons were read by James Chapman and Mary (MacDonald) Horsman. The prayers of intercession were offered by Faber MacDonald. The funeral mass was sung by the church choir. The organist was Kathleen MacDonald. During the mass, the choir sang the processional hymn, Be Not Afraid; the offertory hymn, Gentle Woman; the communion hymn, I'll never Forget You; and the recessional hymn, Amazing Grace. The gift bearers were Mary Caragher and Florence Richards. Pallbearers were Harold Redmond, Craig Chapman, John Whalen, Allen MacDonald, Dana MacDonald, Darren MacMillan, David MacDonald and Ronald Callaghan. The family considered everyone in attendance as honorary pallbearers. Among those attending the funeral were members of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Women's League who also formed an honour guard at the funeral. The interment took place in the family plot in the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
