The funeral for the late Kenneth McHugh, beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Morrissey) McHugh, of Norway, P.E.I., was held on Friday, March 5, 2010, from the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, to St. Simon and St. Jude's Church, Tignish, where funeral mass of con- celebration was celebrated at 2 p.m. by Rev. James Willick, who delivered the homily and had prayers of final commendation and farewell. Co-celebrant was Rev. Alban Arsenault. First reading was addressed by Mary Lee Doucette. Second reading was addressed by Debbie Thomas. Prayers of the faithful were invited by Mary Lou Jenkins. The eucharistic minister was Roma Dorgan. Crossbearer was George Doucette and candlebearers were Joseph DesRoches and Charles Bernard. Altar server was James Hogan. The choir was under the direction of Vincent Doucette and organist was Diane Handrahan. Processional hymn was "Here I am Lord". Psalm was "The Lord's my Shepherd". Offertory hymn was "The Prayer of St. Francis". Communion hymn was "Immaculate Mary". Song of farewell was "Songs of the Angels" and recessional hymn was "How Great Thou Art". Attending the funeral mass were management and staff from Vogue Optical from various Maritime outlets. Active pallbearers were Claude Dorgan, Joe Dorgan, Mickey Dorgan, Raymond Dorgan, Patrick Dorgan and Leslie Gallant. Honorary pallbearers were Brian McHugh, Don Leary, Earl McGrath, Eddie McHugh, Edward Doyle, Donnie MacCarthy, Robert McHugh, Jerry Hackett, Jordon Griffin, Kenneth Griffin and Eddie LeClair. Flowerbearers were Jessica Trail, Mitchell Callaghan, Leah McGrath, Stephanie Dorgan, Shawna Arsenault, Leo Dorgan, Desiree Leary, Ryan Dorgan, John Dorgan and William Dorgan. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
