MCPHEE, Helen Mary McPhee

The funeral for the late Helen Mary McPhee, beloved wife of the late Joseph McPhee of Tignish, was held on Monday morning, Jan. 4, 2010, from the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, to St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, where funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. James Willick, who delivered the homily and had the prayers of final commendation and farewell. The first reading was addressed by Carolyn Gaudet, who also invited the prayers of the faithful. The second reading was addressed by grandson Roger McPhee. The eucharistic ministers were Mary Anne Nelligan and Arlene Gallant. The cross bearer was George Doucette and the candle bearers were Joseph DesRoches and Charles Bernard. The altar server was James Hogan. The choir was under the direction of Vincent Doucette and the organist was Antoinette Perry. The processional hymn was "Praise My Soul the King of Heaven". The psalm was "In the Sight of the Angels I Will Sing Your Praises Lord". The offertory hymn was "Blest Are the Pure in Heart". The communion hymn was "Peace is Flowing Like a River". The song of farewell was "Songs of the Angels". The recessional hymn was "Immaculate Mary". The pallbearers were Ken Jones, Alban Peters, Theodore Peters, Lonny Fennessey, Ernie Myers and Arthur Barnett. The flower bearers were Claudia Rayner and Deloris Richard. Interment will later take place in the church cemetery.
