The funeral for Brian Newcombe, of Summerside, was held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, from the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, to the St. James Anglican Church, Port Hill, where service was conducted at 2 p.m. by Rev. Ned Henthorn. A tribute was given by Doug MacDougall. Soloist Bill Leuty rendered "It is Well With My Soul". New Testament reading was given by Rodney MacArthur. Congregational hymns were "Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah", "Be Thou My Vision" and "Silent Night". Organist was Sandra Williams. Attending the funeral service were staff of Queen Elizabeth Elementary School. Pallbearers were Steve Milligan, Gerry McQuaid, Ron Maynard, Kent Newcombe, Bill Leuty and Alan Maynard. Flower bearers were Andrea Lecky, David MacIsaac, Carla Milligan and Lola Montgomery. Interment was in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Port Hill, with Rev. Ned Henthorn officiating.
